Background: Red Crescent and Emergencies in the country are facing numerous problems in providing roadside assistance services. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relief services of the Red Crescent and 115 Emergency stations in Kerman province from the point of view of the managers of the two organizations.
Methods: This research was descriptive-survey. Sampling method was used to select the samples. The subjects were 44 senior managers of the Red Crescent and emergency department of 115 employees in Kerman province. The data gathering tool was a checklist and researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was verified by the faculty members and expert experts, and its internal reliability was estimated to be 0.76 by the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The checklist was completed by direct observation by the researcher from the databases of the two organizations and the questionnaire was distributed to the respondents in person. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical tests with SPSS18 software.
Findings: 95% of directors underestimate the ability of Red Crescent relief workers to respond to medical emergencies. 54.5% agreed with the assignment of roadside assistance to another organization, 84%, the change in the nature of bases from voluntary to emergency services, and the recruitment of relief workers with the opportunity to upgrade the level of science.
Conclusion: Relief workers from Red Crescent bases are not specialized in pre-hospital activities. Red Crescent ambulances lack adequate medical equipment. Emergency 115 has no rescue equipment. Therefore, changing the nature of the bases from voluntary to service and recruiting relief workers with an opportunity to upgrade the level of science are recommended as improvement strategies.
