Inroduction: Relief workers may encounter some mental symptoms in crisis situations such as fatigue, diminishing compatibility and job ability seriously and also job burnout. The present paper aims to study job burnout in a group of relief workers who give relief services in Bam.
Methods: In this cross sectional research, by using questionnaires it is studied the type of symptoms in a group of active relief workers comparing with active ones in relief operations in Bam earthquake in 2004.
Findings: According to the research, there was a meaningful relation between active relief workers and their attendance duration (%05); their average score was about 16.23 and the control group was 10.2. Also, T test was 3.78 which show the gravity of the situation in active relief workers in %001 level in Bam.
Conclusion: Working and giving services in crisis cause a lot of stress and mental tension in relief workers. Thus, in order to support and to reduce and prevent the psychiatric symptoms it is necessary to do some mental supportive services for relief workers.
