The Journal of Rescue and Relief is the only official publication of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The journal holds a scientific-research rank and is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation and Improvement of Iranian Medical Journals (CAIMJ).
The journal accepts research articles in fundamental, developmental, and applied fields that address topics related to the following areas:

- Disaster crisis management, foresight, and futures research;
- Health, medical care, and rehabilitation in disasters;
- Disaster nutrition;
- Epidemics and infectious diseases in crises;
- Health services in disasters;
- Psychological support and mental health in disasters;
- Traumatic injuries, triage, and related topics;
- International humanitarian law;
- Innovative training methods in disaster management;
- Environmental accidents and disasters, their consequences, and climate change;
- Physical geography, hazard, and vulnerability of areas and populations to disasters;
- Rescue and relief in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents and accidents;
- Resilience to natural disasters;
- Health management in mass gatherings and conflicts.
Since its establishment in 2009, the Journal of Rescue and Relief has published 70 issues.
