Aims and Scope
Journal of Rescue and Relief has been published since 2009 (1388) and is the official scientific publication of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The journal is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation and Improvement of Iranian Medical Journals (CAIMJ).
The journal provides a scholarly platform for the publication and dissemination of high-quality research and evidence-based knowledge in basic, developmental, and applied areas related to rescue, relief, disaster management, emergency and disaster health, humanitarian action, rehabilitation, and related social and environmental sciences.
The journal aims to advance scientific knowledge, research, innovation, and evidence-based practice that contribute to disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, recovery, rehabilitation, and community resilience. It welcomes interdisciplinary research addressing emerging and practical challenges in disaster and humanitarian settings, with particular attention to issues relevant to Iran and the wider regional and international context.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:
- Relief operations, search and rescue, and emergency response;
- Disaster and emergency management;
- Disaster risk reduction, preparedness, mitigation, and resilience;
- Humanitarian assistance, humanitarian response, and coordination;
- Emergency and disaster health and public health;
- Disaster medicine and emergency medicine;
- Mental health and psychosocial support in disasters;
- Rehabilitation, recovery, and disability-related issues;
- Community resilience and community-based disaster management;
- Volunteers, volunteering, youth, and humanitarian participation;
- Humanitarian law, policy, governance, and ethics;
- Disaster communication, information, and technology;
- Environmental, geographical, and built-environment aspects of disasters;
- Risk assessment, vulnerability, and emerging challenges in disaster management;
- Innovations and evidence-based approaches in rescue, relief, and humanitarian practice.
The journal considers original research, review articles, systematic reviews, and other scholarly contributions that demonstrate methodological rigor and provide relevant evidence to advance knowledge and practice in rescue, relief, disaster, health, rehabilitation, and humanitarian fields.
Established in 2009, the journal has published 70 issues and is currently published online.
