Aims and Scope
The Journal of Rescue and Relief is the official scientific quarterly research journal of the Iranian Red Crescent Society. The journal accepts Original Research Papers, Review Articles, Short Communications, and Letters to the Editor in the fundamental, developmental, and applied fields of rescue and relief management and disaster studies. Manuscripts related to these fields are considered for publication.
Authors must declare that their manuscripts are submitted exclusively to the Journal of Rescue and Relief.
Submission
Authors should submit a copy of the manuscript together with photographs, illustrations, diagrams, and other relevant materials to the address provided by the journal.
Each manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, stating the title of the manuscript, the names of all authors, and confirming that the manuscript has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. If the manuscript was previously submitted to another journal and rejected, the authors should provide complete information regarding the previous submission to facilitate proper evaluation.
Tables and illustrations should be prepared separately from the main manuscript. Tables should not be submitted as photographs.
Authors must declare that the manuscript is being submitted exclusively to the Journal of Rescue and Relief. The manuscript should be submitted as an attachment in 12-point Times New Roman font. Figures should be submitted in JPEG or GIF format and should be of sufficient quality for publication in the online edition of the journal.
The manuscript should include the following sections:
The title page should include the complete title of the manuscript; the names of all authors; their highest academic qualifications; the departments or institutions with which they are affiliated; and the corresponding author's address, telephone number, e-mail address, and fax number.
Abstract
All Original Research Articles must be accompanied by a structured abstract of up to 250 words. The abstract should be structured under the following headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, followed by 3 to 5 Keywords.
Keywords assist indexers in cross-referencing articles and are published with the abstract. Authors should ensure that the abstract accurately reflects the content of the manuscript.
Introduction
The Introduction should summarize the purpose and rationale of the study. It should not include an extensive review of the subject, nor should it present data or conclusions from the study.
Methods
The Methods section should provide a precise description of the methods, observations, or experiments used in the study. If an apparatus or instrument is used, the manufacturer's name and address should be provided in parentheses.
For established methods, an appropriate reference should be provided. For new methods, sufficient details should be included to enable another researcher to reproduce the procedure.
The statistical methods used in the study should be clearly described, and any general computer software or statistical program used for data analysis should be identified. The information system used, where applicable, should also be clearly specified.
Findings
The Findings should be presented using appropriate text, tables, and figures. The information presented in tables should not be repeated in full in the text; instead, the relevant table number should be cited.
Long articles may require subheadings within certain sections, particularly the Results and Discussion sections, to improve clarity and organization.
Discussion
The Discussion should emphasize the main findings of the present study and discuss their similarities or differences in relation to previous studies in the field. Detailed results should not be repeated unnecessarily.
The authors should emphasize the novel and important aspects of the study and the conclusions that can reasonably be drawn from the findings. Where a hypothesis has been stated, the authors should indicate whether the findings support or refute the hypothesis, or whether no definitive conclusion can be drawn.
Acknowledgments
All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in this section. This may include individuals who provided technical assistance, writing support, or general departmental support.
Financial and material support should also be acknowledged.
Tables
Tables should be limited in number and submitted with their captions placed above the tables. Tables should not be submitted as photographs.
Explanatory information should be presented in footnotes rather than in the table headings.
Figures
Figures should be limited in number and submitted as high-quality artwork on separate pages. Figure captions should be placed below the figures.
The same data should not be presented simultaneously in tables, figures, and the text.
References
All manuscripts should be accompanied by relevant references.
Authors should ensure that relevant locally published studies have been identified through an appropriate literature search. Although the Editor and reviewers may not be able to verify the accuracy of all references, authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are accurate and complete. To minimize citation errors, references should be checked against the original source documents.
References should follow the formats illustrated in the examples below:

Proofreading
The final version of the manuscript will be sent to the corresponding author for proofreading before publication to identify and correct any remaining errors. Corrections should be clearly marked and returned promptly to the Journal office.
Abbreviations and Symbols
Only standard abbreviations should be used. Abbreviations should be avoided in the title and abstract. The full term represented by an abbreviation should precede its first use in the text, unless the abbreviation is a standard unit of measurement.
Ethical Guidelines
Ethical considerations must be addressed in the Methods section.
For studies involving human participants, authors should state that informed consent was obtained from all adult participants and, where applicable, from the parents or legal guardians of minors. The name of the appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee that approved the study should also be provided.
For studies involving experimental animals, authors should indicate that the maintenance and care of the animals complied with the National Institutes of Health guidelines for the humane use of laboratory animals or with the relevant guidelines of the authors' institution or funding agency.
