Aims and Scope
Established in 2009, the Journal of Rescue and Relief is the official scientific publication of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The journal is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation and Improvement of Iranian Medical Journals (CAIMJ).
The journal provides a scholarly forum for fundamental, developmental, and applied research in rescue, relief, disaster management, emergency and disaster health, humanitarian action, rehabilitation, and related social, environmental, and technological fields. It aims to advance scientific knowledge and evidence-based practice that support disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, recovery, rehabilitation, and community resilience.
The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research addressing scientific, operational, and practical challenges in disaster and humanitarian settings. Research relevant to Iran, the region, and the broader international context is encouraged.

Since its establishment in 2009, the journal has published 70 issues. It is published quarterly and provides open access to its articles. The Journal of Rescue and Relief is currently indexed in the following databases and scholarly services:

- Humanitarian assistance, humanitarian response, coordination, and humanitarian operations;
- Emergency and disaster health, public health in disaster settings, and health services in emergencies;
- Disaster and emergency medicine, triage, traumatic injuries, and related clinical and operational issues;
- Disaster nutrition, epidemics, infectious diseases, and other health-related challenges in crises;
- Mental health and psychosocial support in disasters and other humanitarian emergencies;
- Rehabilitation, recovery, disability, and post-disaster health needs;
- Community resilience and community-based disaster risk management;
- Volunteerism, volunteer management, youth engagement, and humanitarian participation;
- International humanitarian law, humanitarian policy, governance, and ethics;
- Disaster communication, information management, and digital technologies;
- Physical geography, environmental hazards, climate change, and built-environment aspects of disasters;
- Health management in mass gatherings, conflicts, and other complex emergencies;
- Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) emergencies and incidents;
- Education, training, innovation, and evidence-based approaches in rescue, relief, and disaster management.
