INTRODUCTION: Regarding to the plenty natural disasters, there are few studies about depression prevalence after disaster in Iran as there are some contradictory reports and various studies in different countries. This paper aims to determine the relation of depression prevalence and demographic indicators in high school students in Bam in 2003.
METHODS: In this cross-sectional research, about427 students of Bam were surveyed by using Beck questionnaire (with personal qualifications) and SPSS-11.
FINDINGS: More than 60 percent of students were female; the responders were 14 to18 years old and 74.2 percent had different level of depression. The research shows that there was a meaningful relation between depression, gender, losing or physical disability of one of the family members in the earthquake and life satisfaction (p<0.05). In other hand, there was not any meaningful relation between depression rate, age and their residential building collapse during an earthquake.
CONCLUSION: At the end, it is necessary to have a comprehensive planning about mental health regarding to high depression in high school in Bam after natural and man-made disasters.

The occurrence of widespread natural disasters, especially in large cities, is always accompanied by negative consequences, disorder, and chaos. In the meantime, the role of specialized forces in rescuing people trapped under rubble and providing initial care to the injured is very limited in terms of quantity, because the time and physical extent of the incident are the factors that determine the success of the rescue operation. Many variables are involved in relief and rescue operations. Past experiences have proven that in major disasters such as devastating earthquakes, a large volume of rescue activities is carried out by the people themselves and in the early hours after the incident. These actions usually lack predefined management and structure, and overall, they cause damage to the injured and survivors and also destroy countless opportunities to save human lives.
Training semi-professional forces at the local level based on the neighborhood unit will result in better organization and quality of search and rescue activities for the injured, and the guidance of specialized forces will be more competent based on appropriate and timely information of the people's forces. Organized acceleration of relief and rescue activities, in addition to reducing irreparable damage to an acceptable level, will also accelerate the exit from critical situations and the return to normal. This article has attempted to present some of the technical information on search and rescue that can be taught at the general and universal level.

INTRODUCTION: AIDS disease is changing into an acute health and social problem. This paper aims to study the role of Red Crescent Society to control and prevent AIDS and HIV infection.
METHODS: In this descriptive research, the statistical population includes all people (about 222) who are covered by the educational, counseling and support activities and measures of the Red Crescent Society and its affiliated behavioral disease counseling centers in the four provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Golestan and Hamedan.
FINDINGS: According to the findings, the evaluation of the respondents about the role of the Red Crescent Society in the control and prevention of AIDS and HIV infection has been placed at a level higher than "average" (3.157 out of 5).
CONCLUSION: To improve Red Crescent Society place and its role, there should be a multidimensional view to AIDS and HIV infection control and prevention. Because of this, Red Crescent Society should have a systematic view and care about different supporting role to help patients to get compatibility with his or her disease, to get rid of isolation and also to have positive tendency toward the related organizations' functions.
