INTRODUCTION: Training, which is an appropriate guarantee of relief and humanitarian services, is one of the most effective ways to respond to natural disasters. It can improve performance and efficiency if there is a regular and precise education towards the real needs of crisis managers. This paper aims to study the effect of on the job-training course of crisis management on the efficiency of crisis mangers in Damavand city, Tehran province during in disasters.
METHODS: In this descriptive study, the statistical population included all the managers, deputies and incident liaisons of Damavand city (164 people) were surveyed in 2010. A total number of 67 people were selected and studied using questionnaire and random sampling method and the research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire (α= 0.81).
FINDINGS: The results were as 37/2% a very high extent, 40/3% very much and 22/4% on average. The course participants believed that the training of crisis managers is effective in increasing their efficiency.
CONCLUSION: The results show that the content of crisis management course harmonized with crisis mangers occupational needs and improve mangers efficiency.
