Abstract

Introduction: With breakdown of the former structures and the acceleration of urbanization process in recent decades, cities need careful planning in order to provide citizens needs including safety city. Thus, one of the major tasks of planners and urban managers is to determine the proper location for the establishment of fire stations.
Method:  In this descriptive-analytic study, given that most of the criteria have sub-criteria, effective measures were determined in selecting fire stations sites. In the next step, location and descriptive information of each criterion were collected; then by using ArcGIS software, layers needed to shape file format was created after changing urban plans DWG format. However, criteria and sub-criteria weighted based on AHP method and creating layers were reclassified. At the end, by using overlapping indexes the final map site selecting of fire stations in Kermanshah obtained.
Conclusion:  According to the results, hotel and gas station as the compatible land use have the lowest and highest role in selecting fire stations sites. In addition, intercity terminal and health and care land uses have the lowest and greatest impact in selecting fire stations sites. The results show that the existing stations are not sufficient and some of them have been built in the wrong place. The output plan represents the optimal locations for the establishment of fire stations in Kermanshah

Abstract

Introduction: The emergency line operator 112 is a voluntary activity in Red Crescent society which has lots of psychological pressure due to crisis and stress. Stressful jobs needs to identify behavioral and personality characteristics. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between personality traits, self-efficacy and problem solving styles with resiliency in emergency response center operators in Red Crescent society.
Method: In this cross-sectional correlation study, all operator men (248) in emergency line 112 were studied in 2014. Then, 103 operators were selected by using convenience sampling and questionnaire of demographic data, self-efficacy and problem solving styles with resiliency. It is worth mentioning that about 93 persons completed the questionnaire. Finally, data was analyzed by using SPSS, variance and multiple regression.
Findings: The results are as follows: the personality traits of extraversion and conscious have a positive relationship with resilience; conscious and self-efficacy are able to predict the operators’ resiliency; the approach style has a significant relationship with resilience about 0/05. (r=0/209). Also, the relationship of psychological resiliency with trust style, creative style and efficient style are meaningful r=0/281, r=0/442 and r=0/402 respectively. However, the copying creative style can predict 18/6% of resilience changes.
Conclusion: Long-term exposure to stress factors regardless of the operators’ needs such as time and place of rest, long working hours and little time between calls in order to evacuate the excitement of news events can impact on both operators’ problem-solving styles and their resilience and have adverse effect on mental health and job performance. Therefore, psychosocial support of operators can facilitate the goals achievements of Red Crescent society.  In addition, based on the findings of this study, further researches should be made in order to evaluate this group of relief workers with more detailed psychological needs.

Abstract

Introduction: MOHEB project of State Welfare Organization was focused to form local disaster management teams (in the neighborhood or village) in 2007. In order to improve the structure and communication between MOHEB local teams and welfare organization in city and province in emergencies, the project reengineered by specialized Institute of Karamodyran Iranian crisis due to some deficiencies during 2011 to 2013. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of organization, justification and holding maneuver of MOHEB project reengineering in welfare organizational staffs.
Method: In this quasi-experimental and case-control study, knowledge and attitude of welfare organization staffs and also preparedness of welfare organization of a group of four provinces which were subject to MOHEB reengineering was compared with a control group in 2014-2015.
Findings: According to the findings, staff knowledge in intervention group was significantly higher than the control group (p-value<0.001). The observed difference of attitude was not statistically significant between two groups (p-value=0.110). The organizational preparedness of province welfare organization did not differ significantly between two groups; however, the preparedness of city welfare organization offices was significantly higher in intervention group. (p-value=0.029)
Conclusion: The results showed that measures of empowerment taken including emergency organization, briefings & training sessions and reengineered MOHEB project maneuver except attitude had a significant effect on welfare organizational preparedness and staff knowledge.

Abstract

Introduction: Iran is one of the disaster prone countries due to its geographical location and climate changes. Any relief to affected people will be difficult because earthquake occurs without previous alarms. The prediction of areas with the most damage will help to better management of the earthquake; therefore, this study conducted to assess casualties caused by earthquake based on the triage levels in Qom city.
Method: The required data to determine the number and severity of injuries including the incident time and its related parameters and data related to structural studies and their damage level and population for each of structures extracted from GIS maps of Qom city, entered into Selena software, and analyzed
Findings: According to the data analysis, in the event of an earthquake in Qom city, most of the damages occur in the district sixth in all four levels and the lowest casualties and damages in the district eight. In addition, the greatest number of injuries is at level three and at 2 a.m.
Conclusion: One of the effective ways to reduce the damage caused by earthquakes is to predict the number of possible injuries and to provide facilities and equipment due to the region with the most conflict in terms of the number of affected people.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Participation suggests partaking and treating people in such a way that enables them to retain a decisive impact on events that affect their lives. The present study aimed to investigate the factors impacting the increase in the participation of aid workers in the programs of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization.
METHODS: The present research is applied purpose-wise, cross-sectional time-wise, and a survey in terms of data collection. The statistical population involves every volunteer aid worker of the Red Crescent Society of Kermanshah Province in 2021. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose face validity was obtained. Moreover, the questionnaire's reliability was confirmed through Cronbach's alpha. Data were analyzed within SPSS and Amos software.
FINDINGS: Variables of sex, social capital, safety culture, religious beliefs, and media consumption significantly and positively impact the participation of aid workers. Furthermore, the impact of the socio-economic status as a variable is significant and inverse. However, variables of age and marital status do not significantly influence the participation of aid workers. Among these variables, the media consumption variable has the highest regression coefficient value with a regression coefficient of 0.454 while the marital status variable, with a coefficient of 0.039, has the smallest regression coefficient value on the participation of aid workers in the programs of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization.
CONCLUSION: Increasing the cooperation and participation of aid workers in the activities and programs of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization is impacted by several factors to which we need to pay close attention. Attending to these factors can significantly improve how the forces are utilized and further fulfill the goals and programs of the Red Crescent Rescue Organization.
