INTRODUCTION: There are more than 40 natural disasters in the world, of which thirty-one have occurred in Iran, based on surveys and assessments. For this purpose, risk reduction and prevention, integrated disaster management is essential because there is no place that is completely safe.
GIS can be used dynamically in integrated disaster management, in fact, proper data organization is the first role of GIS in disaster management. Not only does GIS start with a stable structure for data of different nature, scale, format and subject, but it also follows database protection, modernization, dissemination and development. In fact, GIS creates and develops integrated disaster management.
Recently, web GIS allows sharing geographic information by designing metadata and developing integrated disaster management. The 1:250,000 map scale and data bank in ArcGIS and metadata in the ISO and FDGC standard model have been designed on the web. According to the results, it is necessary to have a specific standard for designing metadata for relief management. Therefore, it should be coordinated with the national geographic information bank on the one hand and formed on the other hand based on understanding the principles of disasters. Here, a model for standardizing geographic disaster information for integrated natural disaster management is presented.
